Caramel Apple Bread Pudding

Serves: 6 servings
  • About 4-5 cups stale bread, cubed
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 apple
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp cold butter
  • caramel sauce for serving
  1. Preheat the oven to 375° F.
  2. Place the cubed bread in a greased 9” x 13” casserole dish.
  3. Whisk the eggs, milk, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon together in a small bowl, and pour over the bread. Toss well to coat.
  4. Add the apples and toss again.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and flour, fold in the butter and mix until a crumble forms. Sprinkle the butter mixture over the top of the bread and apples.
  6. Place in the oven and bake for 40 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes.
  8. Serve Warm with caramel drizzle.
