It’s November!? Where did the time go?

I feel like SOOOOO much has happened since last time we chatted. Here’s the rundown: I’m officially on maternity leave, my friend Melissa and I started a local blogger meet up group (in the Albany area? Email me and we will get you on the list), I scored some really amazing opportunities in both features and my photography business, oh and I joined the Young Living Family (more about why I joined YL).

 

THE BABIES:

I’m going to have another baby in less than 2 months. How can that be? How are we going to survive?

Monster has no clue what’s about to happen, but he’s living every day to the fullest. Trying to play outside constantly, no matter the weather or temperature. He’s saying a new word every day and showing a lot more personality. He’s loving and social, especially with the ladies. I couldn’t ask for a better kid really. Yes, I’m gushing, but how can you not with a face like that?

HOUSE & GARDEN PROJECTS:

The garden has pretty much been put to bed with the exception of a few items, like kale and carrots, that do fine through a few touches of frost. Planning on using those up in the kitchen in the coming weeks.

As for the house, a bunch of little projects I’ve been waiting on are done, like shelves in the kitchen and hanging hooks for my plants. We have found that little baby hands are getting into a lot of things, so it’s better if dangerous/fragile things are up high. We also finally got a tub! I went through 3+ years and 1.5 pregnancies without it and let me tell you, I missed it. I’ve been in it basically every other night since it was installed. I’m sure we will get pictures once the sheetrock is completed and it’s painted.

THE CHICKENS:

So, last time I told you the chickens probably weren’t making it through the winter with their lack of feathers, well all that has changed. Now suddenly we have feathers. Months of worry just gone. I can’t explain it. There is still one without, but the rest have gained themselves at least a few more weeks of life. We may still cull them, since they don’t lay well in winter (Chuck refuses to put a light out there), and they will be a bit old by spring.

THE PODCAST:

We chatted with Andy of Instafather about all things kids and parties. Hitting on attending kids parties, having kids at adult parties, and even hosting kids in your own home. LOOKING FORWARD:

Hoping to release the 100 Days of Menus Ebook, I’ve been talking about since the project wrapped up in July. Fingers crossed!

STATS:

SPENT ON GROCERIES IN NOVEMBER:

$389.45 – Lower than usual, which I think can be attributed to attempting to clean out the fridge to make room for fall harvest storage.

The cost of Garden Supplies 2017:

$162 – This includes all of 2018. Nothing new this month, the garden is closed down for the year. I wish I had done a better job of keeping track of how much we actually got from the garden this year, but such is life. It was pretty well neglected most of the year so I think we did pretty well. We had an abundance of lettuce greens early on, an ok harvest of onions, and the best carrot harvest I’ve ever had. Garlic did fine as usual. Cucumbers did so, so, we got one butternut squash (I planted too late),  no corn, and just a handful of peas and beans. Cabbage and Kale did great, but that’s about it. On the $/lb ratio, I think we hit about $1 which is pretty darn good if you ask me.
