10 Homemade Spice Blends

Spice mixes are something that I love and use all the time in my kitchen. I find that making them myself not only increases the quality but saves money when compared to purchasing the pre-made seasonings. I also really love that it avoids the processed foods and the non-recyclable packages.

Having these blends on hand can make cooking at home much easier. Tossing together a last minute dish becomes child’s play when you don’t have to think about the spices necessary to bring it together. Below are 10 of my favorite spice blends for you to try out.

  • 2 tablespoons dried basil
  • 2 tablespoons dried oregano
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Use as desired for seasoning to taste.

Sweet Indian Seasoning:

  • 1 tablespoon turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
