My name is Jessica. I am the ginger that runs this site. I live upstate New York just outside of the wild Adirondacks with my Husband Chuck, and our dog Brody.
I have been blogging since April 2012. I started this blog as a way to share recipes with my friends and keep track of life events. Over the over 4ish years, I have been here that purpose still remains though I have grown so much since that time and become an advocate for a more natural and sustainable lifestyle. Balancing this desire for a more healthy and grassroots life with modern conveniences has proven to be a constant challenge that I am constantly trying to improve upon.
Recently I have begun to really focus on reducing my footprint here on earth and producing more of our food locally and sustainably. Together Chuck and I are learning how to navigate hunting and preparation techniques as well as foraging and home growing much of our food. You can find out more about our adventures over on my Hunting, Fishing & Foraging page.
Currently I am working as an engineer for a Environmental Remediation firm. My favorite color is green, and I hardly ever wear makeup. I wouldn’t say that I am a true boho child, but I definitely have some strong hippy tendencies. If you are interested in learning more about me check out my list of 32 things that make me happy, how I spend my me time, what my top 20 expenditures are (thanks Tina Fey) learn about my quirks, or find out what kinda girl I am.
My diet is kind of a big deal to me so I talk about it a lot. You can read about the reasons I eat clean, as well as why I cheat. You can also read about my thoughts on Part Time Vegetarianism and the Slow Carb Diet.
Thank you so much for stopping by and checking me out. I really appreciate everyone that comes through here, and every single one of you makes my day every single day.
