It’s time again for one of those posts where I hand you the links to everything I’m finding interesting on the interwebs lately. Enjoy!

Everything you like eat is fake.  Well that’s what it feels like.

The Veggie Burger of the Future. Obviously fake, but could it be the answer to reducing meat consumption? I’m still not 100% sure about GMO’s.

Did you know giving up meat for one day can save 4,000 gallons of water? Take the #noH2oChallenge with me and help save some water.

Speaking of water: Did you hear that our water is now more polluted than ever?  There are a million different ways to change this but what it really gets down to is changing our land use and reducing climate change. How do we do this? See Above. Eat less meat, adopt a more long term food generation style (caugh*permaculture*), and reduce waste to start with.

As if I needed another reason to love Alicia Keys. I Haven’t worn makeup on a regular basis in years, but to see someone with such a presence do it is an amazing feeling. I hope ladies all around take note. #frecklesforever

Dogs understand both words and intonation of human speech. So now I’m just going to talk to my dog more.

I loved this article on Designing Regenerative Culture. The quote “there is a false separation between nature and culture” really stuck with me.

I’ve been doing a few of Yoga by Candace’s videos on the mornings I go into work late, and man has it felt good. I need to work on my flexibility again though.

While I don’t personally use Field Goods, (I have more veggies than I can handle from my garden most times) I often recommend it to people, and have known numerous people who have used it and love it. I was so happy to see Donna Williams standing up for companies like hers and for farmers. I will never understand the media, government, and Big Corporations issues with honest grown food, it seems they always have something negative to say.

I watched Cowspiracy recently (also available on netflix) and woah. Everyone should watch this.

And on that note check out the statistic below and read more here.

After all this time we find out that there is no scientific evidence to back flossing. Numerous studies of ancient bones, and indigenous hunter/gatherers who do not brush or floss have shown some pretty awesome teeth, so I’m not entirely surprised. I’m starting to think everything is tied to diet.

The first jumping off point in this article gives the idea that “food Media” is not important. Because diet, family connection, and sustainability aren’t important (just see above). Food is probably one of the most important things in any culture, just saying. Way to erk my tatters folks.

Another reason to love Patagonia.

And for the food.

Forgive me for missing my weekly recipe post. You kind of got three of my favorites to test out on Monday, so I think it’s fair. The last 2 to 3 weeks have kind of been a blur so you’ll have to bare with me a bit. Since it’s been a while since I did a weekend links post I thought it might help to tide you over for a bit. Enjoy!

I’ve been seeing this around, and I’m really considering doing it, just because.

Hi guys! in case you didn’t know (which you probably didn’t) Chuck and I have been in Italy for the last couple weeks. While I may have been traveling lately there are still quite a few things that I’ve seen on the internet that I thought you all may like. Also my brain is still in vacation mode, so there is no hope of putting together another post, but at least you know there will be fun travel pictures coming soon!!

On to the fun stuff!

Theres a new “Fixer Upper” coming to HGTV.  When am I going to get a show about the Northeast? btw Northeast =/= New England… We have our own style.

For First Time in Modern Era, Living With Parents Edges Out Other Living Arrangements for 18- to 34-Year-Olds SO many thoughts. First if you can handle living at home then why not build up that retirement, save for a house. Extended living situations can be super beneficial.

This video. I mean whoa talk about a reality check. I’m currently wondering just how many clothes (and other things) do I actually need. Looks like it’s time for another capsule wardrobe project.

Why Cities can’t grow their own food. So much of this is true, but doesn’t every little bit help? What if the areas surrounding cities were farms instead of suburbs? What if people in the suburbs and country grew enough to feed the cities without shipping it thousands of miles?

And this video because Monsanto is a problem, because the right to decide if we want to eat and grow GMO’s should be our choice not the government or the corporations.

As for things I’ve pinned… Well I think you can tell that there is a theme going on here!
