August flew by. Did anyone else notice that? I had so much I wanted to get done, and yes I accomplished a lot, but I feel like there is so much more yet to do!

Brody and I did get the chance to go hiking at Snowy Mountain with our friends Carrie and Baxter. It was a much needed hike with lots of great conversation and views.

We got the house looking like an actual house that people live in. To celebrate we had a bunch of people over, to finally debut the place. Not, of course that I remembered to take any pictures to show you. I’ll work on that for next time.

We checked a few more things off the Wedding To Do List, and as of today we have 18 days to go.

We had a few great nights over at the Shauber house. Our good friends just moved into their first house less than 3 miles down the road from us, and I can tell this is going to be fun.

We had some trouble and tried to go camping twice, but neither time worked out for us. Lets just say that sickness seems to be running rampant in our family this summer. We are going to try again one more time before the wedding. keep your fingers crossed for us!

Because of the whole not camping thing we were able to get so much more done around the house. You can read all about our house updates here.

The month ended with another wedding for some of our really good friends, and it was a blast. I’ll be sad when all these weddings are over because with the pace of life these days we don’t get to hang out with our friends quite as much as we would like, and these big parties are only going to get fewer and farther between.

If you didn’t know this already July was a little crazy. So crazy in fact that I never did a recently post. So we are doing that today, it’s only 7 days late. No big deal. I mean who’s keeping track anyway?

As many of you know we closed on our house last month (happy dance) and we decided to redo our floors ourselves before we moved in (why??). Well we won’t dwell on it, but it got done, and then we had essentially one weekend to move; except we were smart and didn’t plan ahead like we had in other moves, so it pretty much became a mess.

We were able to take a break in the middle of it all and celebrate July 4th on the lake, and it was awesome.

The next few weeks/weekends were all about unpacking and reorganizing. I’ll just skim over the stomach bug that attached both Chuck and myself in the middle of all that. You just don’t want to know.

We did get a few wedding things checked off the list, and parts of the house all settled, so progress is happening. Keep those fingers crossed for me that things can actually get done around here.

Thankfully I was feeling good enough to go to a conference for work, at an amazing resort in Cooperstown, NY. It was a much needed break to say the least; I didn’t even have to cook!

That stomach bug is the reason we never made it camping at the end of the month, but we are hoping to carve out some time for it in august, though that calendar is looking pretty packed too.

I’m falling behind on my 12-12-12 project, but I swear that I will get myself together and get back on track this month.

It’s a very busy and stressful season, but we will get through it. I just need to pick up more tea.

So the big news of this month was closing on our first house, but there was a number of other things that happened this month.

Got to meet up with my favorite Philly Blogger Chrystina when she passed through town.

…and subsequently got my first sunburn of the season. Lunch on the patio, I should have seen it coming. sigh. If you need tips on dealing with a sunburn naturally check out this post.

My bridal shower & bachellorette party were held and they both turned out great!

Started working on some baby blanket projects for upcoming bundles.

I went to Laconia Bike Week for the first time this year. It was a blast, despite some logistics issues. I will definitely try to go again next year.

I was also reminded how much I really do enjoy long car rides with Chuck. We get to talk about so much, and with the hectic few months we’ve had, it was really nice.

We also got to work right away on getting the house move in ready. Floor sanding and garden work galore!!! It’s been a task but we are getting through it!

May was INSANE!

I know I say that almost every month but I just feel like there is so much going on all the time. It just get’s crazier and crazier.

The thing is I don’t want to jinx anything until it’s officially official, so a lot of the goings on of this month will remain a secret for just a few more days.

In the mean time however one pretty big announcement is that I’m going to be an aunt! I’m so excited I can barely stand it. I’ve already started experimenting with crochet patterns for baby blankets. My Sewing & Yarn Projects pinterest board is overflowing right now.

We went on a booze cruise with some of our best friends. I didn’t drink much, but it was so much fun.

I spent a weekend building a new photo backdrop for my 12-12-12 project and it’s got me wondering why I didn’t do it sooner.

I realized that our wedding is not going to be a traditional wedding, and listed all the reasons why.

We went to the most gorgeous and fun wedding for our dear friends last weekend. I couldn’t be happier for them. No I don’t have pictures, since I was having too much fun and eating way too much food. We won’t talk about the fact that I had some flu like illness for the few days leading up to the bash, I stayed home from work and rested up just to be prepared for the big event. Not Kidding.

I told you all about the many lessons that I learned from house hunting. There are more I’m sure, and since we are on the topic the whole house hunting thing has a lot to do with the crazy month we had this month. Again I know you’ve heard it a million times, but it really does take over everything for a while.

June is bound to be a wild ride as well. On the docket we have more house hunting, my wedding shower (eek!), lot’s of wedding planning, and some travel plans. Seriously I am exhausted just thinking about all that.

I hope you all had a great month as well. Give me your highlights in the comments. I always want to learn more about you guys!

Well ladies and gentlemen, as some of you may or may not have noticed there have been some big changes around here lately; specifically this week when I finally made the switch over to wordpress. That’s right; this tiny space is growing up! It has its own dowmain, hosting, and bills for the first time ever. We are in adult territory over here.

The site should show up on your feeds just fine, but feel free to update it or email me if you are having any issues at all.

A few other changes will be happening in the next few weeks while I work out the tweeks, and learn how to use this monster that is wordpress. I think this is a great step toward a more professional and polished blog. Now if there’s anyone out there who wants to give me a redesign I’d be ever so grateful.

Now, on to all of the other stuff that happened around here in the month of April, which admittedly wasn’t a whole lot, but sometimes you need a slow month.

Easter came early this year, but the weather was perfect for a morning Easter egg hunt with my family.

If I felt like a little kid again hunting Easter eggs then I grew up a bit and told you all the things I learned since college. Ok maybe not all the things, but there’s some good ones inthere.

I started planning and prepping for my garden this year, including giving my indoor plants some love.

More house hunting.

Making Soap

My sister and I made a little craft for mothers day.

Wedding preparations are underway; I put this whole thing off long enough, time to start actually working. Literally, I’m making the alterations to my dress myself.

Last weekend we made a little trip to Lake Winnipesaukee for a wedding. It’s a beautiful place and we are totally going back some day.

I know this month seems slow, but it really was a whirlwind for me, there’s a bunch of stuff going on over here that I can’t tell you all about quite yet, but next month is going to be full of announcements and big big big changes. I promise. Just hold tight I’ll let you in on all my secrets just as soon as I can.
