Well I am an buried with wedding stuff this weekend. Part of that being taking a break form my own wedding to attend some really great friends wedding. I totally stoked!

Since I still have a few hours left of work and you probably do to here is a round up of cool links that I found interesting around the interwebz recently. Enjoy!

3 Americans took down a gunman on a train in Europe.  Also another man also stepped up. No second thoughts, just action. One word: Proud.

This whole dress code thing is getting out of hand. I totally understand that a dress code is necessary, but not allowing girls to show their collarbones is a little insane for US Standards. Read further.

I never realized how many people registered to be a candidate in a presidential election 585 to be exact. Right now my vote is between Deez Nuts and Sydneys Voluptuous Buttocks for obvious reasons.

I am in love with this color scheme….. many ideas are forthcoming.

This totally cracked me up. Oh the internet.

One of my absolute favorite instagram feeds  #radgirlslife

This trailer was recently released….all the feels.

ISIS is destroying historical artifacts and antiquities, because murder, torture, and rape aren’t enough for them.

I like to end on a happy note, so let’s talk about Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence writing a movie that they can both star in! And I just school girl screeched.

Weekend Links

This weekend is a low key one. We are going on a huge Motorcycle memorial ride for a friends father who passed away last year, hanging out with some friends, and of course working on the house. Hope you have a great weekend!

It takes a village.

The Age of the Robot Worker will be Worse for Men – So in the future it is entirely possible to thick that women will be the bread winners? Interesting.

Could eating spicy food help you live longer? – I’m screwed. Spicy and I don’t get along.

I watched Fed Up this week on Netflix. It was eye opening and everyone should watch it.

More of this. With the state of our economy I think going back to the tradition of younger family members helping out their aging parents and extended family living together is a great idea. The idea that adults still living with their parents are just lazy is a ridiculous stereotype. I totally would still be living with my folks if I wasn’t getting married. It helps everyone involved.

And on that same note if your in laws are a problem you could always try this.

16 Party Ideas Inspired by Gilmore Girls…yes I’m a Gilmore Fan Girl.

Also I think I found my new best friends. Seriously you guys Evan and Hilary look like they have so much fun! Check out their blog pureadk.com

Weekend Links

I hope you enjoy this weeks collection of awesome internet stuff. As this post goes live Chuck, Brody and I are on our way to go camping at our secret spot. After the insanity that has been the last few weeks I could not be more excited to get into the woods and relax! That being said, there will not be a post on Monday, however I have a special meal plan for you on Sunday. Enjoy the weekend and Happy Friday!

Cultured beef – Would you eat it? I’m pretty sure I’m not ok with it.

I want to applaud John Oliver for this segment. We need more entertainers talking about these types of issues, not just the “hot-button/political” nonsense.

This video made me so depressed. I see this change already between my childhood and my siblings, who are 10 and 16 years my junior. It hits me in the heart to know what these kids are missing out on.

Brody Stories: The New House

HAAAY!

Hi! HI! HIII!

Brody Here!

Glad to see you stop by! My mom is kind of frazzled right now so I thought I’d come out of blogging retirement and post for her today. The last post I did for here was almost a year ago. You can read it here.

I’m glad to be back. It’s nice to tell you guys all my awesome doggy stuff.

And do I have a lot to say this time around so get ready.

I wasn’t sure about this new house at first. It smelled weird, but it’s growing one me.

When mom and dad were moving all of our stuff I got a little worried that all my favorite things were being taken away so I did my best to pee on everything. See, once it smells like me it’s mine and you can’t take it away. This plan worked because now everything is safe and sound in the new house; even though mom cleaned it all, lucky for her I’m ok with the smell of lavender.

What I really love about this place is the doggy door that’s in the garage. When my parents are home they leave the door open for me and I can come and go as I please which is awesome!

I also really like all the sticks in the back yard. There. Are. So. Many. Sticks. I mean really, so many more sticks than the other house! Mom keeps yelling at me for bringing little pieces of sticks in the house. I’m going to keep doing it though, eventually she will give in, I know it.

I haven’t been able to meet any of the neighbor dogs yet, but I hear a rumor that we are within walking distance of a really awesome town dog park!! I just need Mom to register me with the town soon so that she can take me!

I really hope we never move again. I don’t like it when my parents stress, and I got no attention for like a week because they were busy packing and unpacking. I had to remind my parents quite a bit that puppies need cuddles! I did that by climbing into my mom’s lap every change I got and flopping onto my back in front of dad. It usually worked.

Needless to say I’m glad things are starting to settle down and I’m getting regular cuddles again, which it’s totally time for so I’ll have to catch up with you all later.

Have a great weekend!!

Weekend Links

Today’s post is about all the awesome stuff that I came across on the wonderful land of the internet. I hope it helps you get through Friday!

First off remember that cook book, that I helped test recipes for? The Yellow Table: A Celebration of Everyday Gatherings: 110 Simple & Seasonal Recipes Well it’s up for pre-order again! Let’s help this awesome lady hit the best sellers list!!

I’m not usually one to get overly excited about TV premieres (unless we are talking a Gilmore Girls spinoff) but holy-wow am I excited for this.

It amazes me that people could think slaves; any slaves had it “pretty good”. Sure they may have had a roof to sleep under and enough food to make it through the day, but how would you like to live knowing that you and your children have no choices in life; knowing that your husband and children could be taken from you at any moment, at the most base assumptions about slavery. I’m pretty sure half of America now would have a complete cow if they didn’t get to choose what they wanted for dinner tonight. Anyway read this.

This was an interesting read on the last Confederate rebels. WHo knew?

And since we are on the topic. This lady has fight and passion and a long sorted past, and I couldn’t love this speech any more.

While I agree that a symbol that can be so offensive should be removed from government grounds, I also wonder what removing a TV show from the 70’s is really saying.

Moving on to more lighter topics….

This resonated so much with me.

Harper Lee’s sequel to To Kill a Mockingbird came out this week.Go Set a Watchman  looks like it’s a must read.

Keri Smith is saving kids from screens. I love her message and just ordered The Imaginary World Of… I’ll let you know how it is.

Speaking of screens Facebook is getting serious.

Vampires exist.…. yup you read that right. To note it’s believed that the guy who wrote Dracula actually thought they did. Check out this post and skip down to the Complete Icelandic Edition Preface Section. You could also take a second to check out Dayna’s site her writing is amazing.

Get your parka out. There’s a mini ice age coming.

I want this so bad!!
